Colin Smyth MSP
South Scotland MSP Colin Smyth has commented on the announcement last week from Jeremy Hunt that £5 million has been pledged for a feasibility study into improving the A75.
Colin Smyth said: “While the news of money being pledged by the UK Government at long last for a feasibility study into improving the A75 seems like a positive step forward, I will not be alone in saying that I will only believe improvements are going to be made when I see them actually happening.
“We don’t need yet another feasibility study into the A75, we need actual improvements. For far too long, the south west of Scotland’s roads have been neglected and for the safety of roads users, and to support the local economy, that has to end.
“It is time to recognise that the upgrading of both the A75 and the A77 is a strategic priority for the whole of Scotland.”
