Colin Smyth MSP
South Scotland MSP Colin Smyth has welcomed news that well over £100,000 is to be invested in projects right across Dumfries and Galloway.
£132,808 has been invested by The National Lottery and Sports Scotland across a huge array of charities, schools and community groups.
Ranging from £802 for the Ashgrove Court Registered Tenants Organisation right up to £10,000 Upper Eskdale Development Group in total 18 groups within Dumfries and Galloway will benefit from this funding.
Speaking about the announcement, Colin Smyth MSP said:
“This funding is a real boost to many of the excellent local organisations working across Dumfries and Galloway providing for much for the local community . Despite all the economic uncertainty which can make it hard when it comes to fundraising and grants , it is good to see the National Lottery investing in successful projects.
This money will allow these groups to grow and expand their work and I cannot wait to see the impact they can have of their communities with this additional funding.
I will be writing to all the groups to congratulate them on their successful applications “
