South Scotland MSP, Colin Smyth used the beginning of Armed Forces week to praise the work of Britain’s Armed Forces.

The local MSP yesterday (19 June) attended flag raising ceremonies in Dumfries and Sanquhar to celebrate armed forces in our community and mark the beginning of Armed Forces Week. All across Dumfries and Galloway communities are raising the armed forces flag to celebrate the role armed forces have paid.

Colin Smyth MSP said:

“Armed Forces week is an excellent opportunity to say thanks to all the men and women from our communities who serve in our armed forces all year round. The flag raising ceremonies at the beginning of the week and the parade on Armed Forces Day itself brings together veterans and local pupils from the region’s schools to pay tribute to those who work everyday to keep us safe”.<
